Safety & Emergency Prep Coordinator, Full Time Days - (Job Number: 06742-36298a) Job DescriptionThe Safety & Emergency Preparedness Coordinator provides leadership and consultative services to departments and services within the organization in achieving regulatory/accreditation compliance. Collaborates with clinicians and other staff in developing and implementing processes to comply with regulatory standards. This includes all standards related to Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness. Acts as the facility Safety Officer and is responsible for chairing the Environment of Care committee and Emergency Preparedness committee. This individual is responsible for preparing all Environment of Care Committee Meetings, Annual Reports, and assimilating all reports and minutes needed in the EOC monthly meeting.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of Environment of Care (EOC), disaster planning, and emergency preparedness. At least three years similar experience desired. College graduate or equivalent is required. Safety or Emergency Management roles in healthcare setting preferred. Extensive knowledge of current safety and emergency management regulatory standards. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to write policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead committees and groups effectively so as to achieve team and organizational goals. Current licensure/certification commensurate with education requirements. Other Preferred Licensure or Registration: Certified Healthcare Safety Professional desired (ASHE Certification); Other certifications in safety and emergency management. Able to work independently and prioritize responsibilities with good organizational skills. Computer experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
